Galician strategy for active ageing

This strategy is a renewal of the Xunta de Galicia’s commitment to guaranteeing the well-being and quality of life of the elderly. The strategy is articulated along three strategic lines: (1) the person as the person responsible for their own ageing process; (2) the implementation of innovative models for the construction of experiences that favour active and healthy ageing and an autonomous life; and (3) the articulation of a path towards a paradigm shift in society. Three transversal axes are incorporated into these strategic lines: (1) the gender perspective, (2) the ageing process in rural areas and (3) disability.
In strategic line 3 (Creating a pathway for a paradigm shift in societies: harnessing and valorising the opportunities of revolution), the following objective focuses on promoting the Silver Economy as a creator of opportunities through five actions: (1) the creation of a multi-dimensional meeting space on the Silver Economy; (2) training in active ageing for professionals in sectors such as tourism or hospitality; (3) the incorporation of civil societies for the identification of needs and the development of adapted solutions; (4) the participation of intermediate groups and organisations for the promotion of innovation; and (5) the promotion of senior entrepreneurship.
